Chrome 53 for PC Gets The Material Makeover

Chrome v53 for PC finally got the material makeover as it was already released for ChromeOS and the changes were looking so good that PC users were waiting for it eagerly and now with Chrome 53, PC users can get the hands on the new Material Makeover for the browser which adds

  • New Animations
  • New Downloads Page
  • Download Bar Changes
  • More Edgy Tabs
  • URL Bar Changes with Navigators Too
  • Bookmarks Bar Color Modifications

If you're a regular Chrome user (that you must be) it is very much possible that you must have noticed the changes with the UI at the first glance. Yes that's because several things have changed that we have already mentioned above. Firstly that tab switchers.

Tab switcher is now more sharp at edges which used to be slightly round in earlier versions of Chrome. Honestly, this is the thing which primarily introduced us that changes have happened and these sharp edgy tabs switchers are (in our view) not looking that good. What's your call.. Let us know with your comments.

Now coming to URL Bar, this has not been modified much but you can notice them easily, The font size of URL has been decreased a bit and that looks like a good change and is comfortable to view even after the decrease in size. URL container now has little round edges.
Navigators and Refresh button has also been modified as they also seem to have got thin than before and edgy too. Now, these three buttons have that Bubble ripple animation.

Also the bookmark maker (that little star that sits in URL Bar) has been changed to Blue from Yellow and you will see the decrease in its size also.

Google's idea of changes might have gone with much of White and White only as the Bookmarks bar has now been changed from that Dull Grey to White which now looks like the part of the page itself and matches the material guidelines. This change is welcomed though and now every bookmarked page has the Bubble ripple animation when clicked.

The download bar that sits at the bottom of the page has also been modified and is the most prominent change you'll notice in this version. The downloaded/downloading item now floats in a card style UI above the bar and is now very much clean. Show All button has been provided borders which gives it a button look finally that takes you to Downloads Page.

Now these are some of the most noticeable changes that Chrom v53 has made and is now available as an update if you use Chrome already. Just head to Chrome's Menu > Help > About Google Chrome and that's it, it will check for the update and there you go.

If you find any other change(s), feel free to drop a comment and let us know.
