Google announces $69 Chromecast Ultra with 4K and HDR support

Google at its event yesterday announced Chromecast Ultra with 4K support as well as HDR and Dolby Vision. Initially it will be able to stream 4K content from YouTube, Netflix and Vudu, and Google Play Movies will get support in November.

Thanks to improved WiFi connectivity, the videos will load 1.8 time faster than the standard Chromecast. It also features an Ethernet port, which is built into the power adapter, for those users whose WiFi connectivity is not able to handle 4K streams. If you're TV is not 4K ready, Ultra will automatically optimize for the maximum resolution offered by your TV.

The Ultra has the same compact hockey puck design as previous gen Chromecast, but sports 'G' logo instead of the Chrome. It also has an HDMI cable that plugs directly into the TV.

The Chromecast Ultra is priced at $69 (Rs. 4,600) and will be available in November in the U.S and 15 countries around the world.
