Resurrection Remix Embarks It's Nougat Journey

Google had released Nougat's source code back in August. Based on that, CyanogenMod 14.1 was released earlier this month. Resurrection Remix developers have further worked upon the foundation laid down by CM and have now released the sources of their work to the public. All the features from Marshmallow based variant of the ROM seem to have been carried over and we doubt whether any feature has been dropped.

The ROM was supposed to be launched along with the CyanogenMod's Theme Engine (CMTE), but since the bringing up of CMTE has been a lot slower than expected this year, RR is yet to merge the same. Hence currently RR 5.8.0 lacks the presence of the theming engine. CMTE will be incorporated as soon as it is released by CyanogenMod.

Official builds are currently available for the following devices:
  • OnePlus One
  • OnePlus 3
  • Nexus 5X
  • Nexus 6
  • Nexus 6P
  • LG G2
  • LG G4
  • Samsung i9300
  • HTC One m8
  • Redmi Note 3
  • Redmi 3
  • Xiaomi Mi Max
  • Xiaomi Mi3
  • Moto G 2013
  • Moto G 2014
  • Moto X 2014
  • Sony Xperia Z/ZL/ZR
  • Yu Yureka
  • Cancro
  • Asus Zenfone 2

In case you own any of the above mentioned devices and would like to try out the ROM, head over to this link and download the ROM for your device.

The recommended Gapps package is Open Gapps. To download the same, you can either use the Open Gapps Android application or download it from their website.

Since this is only the first release, some bugs might have gone unnoticed and may yet have to be worked upon. In case you come across any bug while using the ROM, please do report it in the Google community of Ressurection Remix along with a proper logcat. This will eventually help us in getting an even stabler version of the ROM soon.
