Google Confirms That The Nexus 6 & 9 Won't Get The Android 7.1.2 Update

Google had announced a new maintenance release of Nougat, Android 7.1.2, earlier today. The list of devices for which Android 7.1.2 has been made available in the form of beta include Nexus 5X, 6P, Google Pixel and Pixel XL. As you might have noticed, this list does not include the HTC Nexus 9 and the Motorola Nexus 6. Both the devices had however been treated to Nougat 7.1.1.

As we had speculated earlier today, the exclusion of Nexus 6 and Nexus 9 might just mean that Google will not be supporting these devices anymore in terms of major Android updates. In a confirmation to DroidLife, Google has said that it won't be rolling out Nougat 7.1.2 for the Nexus 6 and 9. But here's the silver lining, both the devices will still continue to receive monthly security patches from Google.
