Another month and another security story, Google keeping up with the track has now released January Security Patch for two of it's glories, Pixel and Nexus. The Security Bulletin is available now and everything better needed will be linked further.

Now, moving ahead to much useful stuff. Like always, there are 2 security patch levels pointing Jan 1 and Jan 5 to which the latter is more of a complete package that addresses Qualcomm and NVIDIA secuirty issues. Build Numbers for the devices are here -

  • Pixel: NMF26U
  • Pixel XL: NMF26V
  • Nexus 6P: N4F26I, N4F26J
  • Nexus 5X: N4F26I
  • Nexus 9: N4F26M
  • Nexus Player: NMF26R
  • Pixel C: N4F26I
Google has already made Factory Images and OTA zips available for this update. It is again a matter of concern as to why Nexus 6 is getting much ignorance but, if we hope for a better side, things should be good for the device which is about to receive Nougat 7.1.1 shortly and that should also include the January Security Patch.
