Resurrection Remix Adds Support For Substratum

After popular ROMs such as Dirty Unicorns (DU) and AICP chose to avail the theming services of Substratum, it is now Resurrection Remix who have finally gone ahead and merged support for OMS aka Substratum.

We have talked about the slow bringing up of the CyanogenMod Theming Engine multiple times. Post the termination of CyanogenMod, the development of CMTE came to a halt altogether and CM's developers had to relocate their efforts into bringing the project back in the form of LineageOS. Now that we have had LineageOS for a few weeks now, the development status of the Theme Engine still remains a mystery. If one will take a look at the Gerrit of LineageOS, it will be easy to figure out that the development of the Theme Engine has picked up pace now, it's being done, but when the Theme Engine will pave it's way into the official builds of the ROM still remains unknown.

ROMs such as Resurrection Remix have been waiting patiently for the Lineage Theme Engine to pop up, but since it's been a long waiting time already, many ROMs have gone ahead and instead decided to support Substratum in their ROMs. Resurrection Remix are the latest members of this club.

Resurrection Remix have updated their Github with the required changes which ensure full support for OMS. ROM maintainers will shortly be compiling new builds for the device(s) they support. The new builds of the ROM will be branded with the version number 5.8.1.
