Snapchat CEO terms India "poor," Indians boycott

Snapchat would like to forget what happened yesterday. I would to take to 2015 when a meeting of Snapchat was held. One of the employees asked in meeting about the global spread of Snapchat in the developing countries in the coming years. Interupting in between the Snapchat's CEO said that Snapchat is made only for rich countries. Then he said that he doesn't want to make Snapchat reach in India and Spain showing indirectly that India and Spain are poor.

This happened two years ago but I don't know how it got leaked yesterday. As soon as it got leaked, it became trending on Twitter, videos start uploading about this on YouTube and many other things happened. As this news started spreading among Indians through social media, they started uninstalling Snapchat from their smartphones and starting giving bad reviews to Snapchat. This has resulted in the reduction of ratings of Snapchat both of Apple App Store and Google Play Store.

According to statistics, there were more than 4 million users of Snapchat in India. Yesterday, Snapchat later said that they didn't make any such comment on India but it didn't put any water on the anger of Indians.
