Nougat 7.1 Is Being Rolled Out For Moto X Play

Motorola has announced the commencement of Android 7.1.1 update roll out for the Moto X Play. Motorola had said in September last year that it will be upgrading Moto X Play to Nougat 7.0 but the company did not roll out the Android 7.0 update. It is now instead updating the Moto X Play to Nougat 7.1.1.

Apart from including all the features of Nougat 7.1.1 on-board, the update also packs in Google's video calling app Duo and the May 1 security patch. The update is currently being rolled out only to Indian consumers. We will update you as and when the upgrade is available in other regions.

Motorola recommends to use a stable WiFi connection to download the update and to have at least 50% battery level while installing the update. Since the update is being rolled out in batches, it might take some time to reach your device. You will be alerted about the update via an OTA notification.
