Motorola Releases Nougat Kernel Source Code For Moto X Pure 2015, Official Rollout To Begin Soon

The Moto X Pure 2015 is all set to receive it's Nougat update soon. The device was assured of the update when Motorola had released the list of smartphones it will be updating to Nougat. Motorola has posted the kernel source code of the Nougat update on GitHub. Usually kernel source codes are released after the update rollout has commenced, but in the case of Moto X Pure the source code has been released before the update rollout. The update should hence begin rolling out soon.

The Moto X Pure 2015 was launched with Lollipop onboard and was later on updated to Marshmallow. The Android 7.1.1 update will mark the second major Android upgrade for the two year old smartphone.

Kernel source codes are important for developers to make custom ROMs, kernels and recoveries for a device. Although various Nougat based custom ROMs are already available for the device, the Nougat based source code will make them more stable.

If you are a developer, you might want to take a look at the source code linked below.
