Wileyfox Swift 2 Lineup Is Being Updated With The September Security Patch

Wileyfox isn't a name that you hear about every now and then, but lately, Wileyfox has been making a lot of efforts to grab eyeballs. After Cyanogen's downfall, Wileyfox took it on themselves to update all their devices to Nougat from Marshmallow. It is worth mentioning here that post Cyanogen's demise, Wileyfox didn't have much experience on the software front to begin with. However the company took on the adversities and updated it's Swift 2 lineup to Nougat 7.1.1 in March followed by a Nougat 7.1.2 update in June.

The British smartphone manufacturer is now rolling out the September security patch to Swift 2, 2X and 2 Plus. Most importantly, this update includes patches for the Blueborne vulnerability wherein a hacker could obtain access to a Bluetooth enabled device without the owner's consent. This update also includes some bloatware apps. These include Kindle, Prime Video and Amazon's shopping app. On a positive side of things, all of these apps can be uninstalled.

The update weighs 540.9MB and carries the build number TOS294H. If you haven't received an OTA notification, you would be getting one soon. You can check for the update manually by heading over to Settings > About phone > System updates.
