OnePlus 5 Updated To OxygenOS 4.5.14, Brings Fixes To KRACK & Bugs

OnePlus is rolling out another update for the OnePlus 5. OxygenOS 4.5.14 for OnePlus 5 includes fixes for KRACK vulnerability in WPA2 WiFi protocol, support for Airtel VoLTE in India, Band 66 of Freedom in Canada and some optimisations. The complete changelog is as follows:

System
  • Supported Airtel VoLTE in India
  • Supported Band 66 of Freedom in Canada
  • Fixed Wi-Fi WPA2 security issue
  • Optimized battery usage in some cases
  • Optimized GPS accuracy
  • General bug fixes

An exploit of KRACK vulnerability in WPA2 would allow a hacker to gain unfair access to communication made from a WPA2 enabled device. The hacker can not only spy on the user's entire web activity but also manipulate it which can lead to loss of sensitive information. OnePlus has patched the KRACK vulnerability with this update.

The update is rolling out right now. The update file size is over 1.5GB, so you may want to be connected to a WiFi connection while downloading the update. If you have a OnePlus 5 and haven't received the update yet, you would be getting it soon. You can also flash the update manually using the files linked below.
