Android 'O' Developer Preview Is Out, Flashable Images Now Available

Taking everyone by surprise, Google has made the Developer Preview of Android O official. This is indeed strange as Nougat 7.1.2 Beta 2 was launched just yesterday. It is worth noting here that Google hasn't made the factory or OTA images of the Android O update available. We only have the Developer Preview builds of Android O. If you are interested in testing out Android O, you will have to download the factory image for the same from here and flash it manually using ADB. The developer previews are available for the following devices:

  • Google Pixel
  • Google Pixel XL
  • Pixel C
  • Nexus 6
  • Nexus 5X
  • Nexus Player.

The Android O builds which have been put out by Google are not a part of the Android Beta program. Hence, Google won't be rolling out the Android O builds via an OTA update. The only way you can try out O is by flashing the developer preview for your device using ADB.

We can't really guess what's up with Google as the Nougat 7.1.2 Beta and Android O Developer Preview has been made official in a gap of merely 24 hours. Now let's see what it brings to the devices. Let's roll the O, stay with us as we bring more information to you soon.
