Kernel Source Code Released For Honor 6X

The Honor 6X was released in September last year. The device was powered by Marshmallow 6.0 at the time of its launch and after Honor failed to honour its promise of updating the 6X to Nougat by March, the budget segment device finally got the update in May. Now after a span of more than two months Honor has released the kernel source code of the Nougat update.

Kernel source codes are important for developers who wish to build custom ROMs, recoveries and kernels for a device. Although Nougat based ROMs are already available for the Honor 6X, the official source code will help the developers in making custom ROMs more stable for the handset.

If you are an Android developer, you might want to check out the source code by clicking here. Honor 6X owners can visit the XDA forums for their device and install the Nougat based custom ROMs and kernels.
