Unofficial Flashable ZIPs & Magisk Modules Are Now Available For Nougat Based Xposed

An unofficial port of Xposed for Nougat was released yesterday in the form of an ART submodule. The submodule had to be incorporated by a custom ROM developer while building the ROM. This meant that if you are using a Nougat based ROM which doesn't have the ART submodule integrated, you couldn't use Xposed on the ROM. This isn't the case anymore as several developers have now released flashable ZIPs and Magisk modules which will let you use Xposed on your current Nougat based ROM.

It is to be noted here that these flashable ZIPs and Magisk modules are currently only compatible with Android devices running on Nougat 7.1.1 or Nougat 7.1.2 (SDK 25). Devices which are based on Nougat 7.0 (SDK 24) can't run Xposed. It's also worth noting that heavily tweaked Android skins such as Samsung's GraceUX or Huawei's EMUI may not be able to run these builds of Xposed. These builds aren't compatible with devices running Xiaomi's MIUI.

If you wish to install Xposed systemlessly via Magisk, then you can find the requisite Magisk modules from here. Systemless installation of Xposed will ensure that your device doesn't trip the SafetyNet check. If you are comfortable with tripping SafetyNet, then you can obtain the flashable ZIPs of Xposed from here. The links mentioned in both the cases are of XDA threads. To avoid encountering unexpected bugs, it is highly recommended that you read the XDA threads thoroughly (at least read the first post in the forum thread by the developer) and take a nandroid backup before proceeding with the installation.

In the former case you must ensure that you are using the latest build of Magisk (while writing this article v13.3 was the latest). In the latter case make sure that you are running the latest build of custom recovery (like TWRP) for your device.

Since these are unofficial builds of Xposed, they are susceptible to bugs. At the time of writing this article, many users had reported on the forum threads that they weren't able to install Xposed successfully while some were able to. So it's highly recommended that you take a nandroid backup before proceeding with the installation.
