OnePlus outs OxygenOS 4.5.6 hotfix update for OnePlus 5 to fix reboot when calling 911

OnePlus is rolling out a new update to the OnePlus 5 that fixes a bug the caused the device to reboot immediately after dialing emergency numbers 911 in the U.S and 999 in the UK. This was experienced by some OnePlus 5 users, however users in India were not affected.

The fix is included in the OxygenOS 4.5.6 and is rolling out over-the-air. Since this is a hot fix update, OnePlus advises to upgrade to this build as quickly as possible.

The OxygenOS 4.5.6 for OnePlus 5 is just 32MB in size, and doesn't include anything else. OnePlus says the update is incremental, so only a small percentage of devices will get the build first, followed by a wider roll out.  If you haven't received a notification, check for the update by going to Settings > System Updates. You can even install it manually by downloading the OTA Zip file.
