Sony Is Rolling Out September Security Patch (Ahead Of Google) To Xperia XZ & X Performance

After Nokia, it's now Sony's turn to roll out the September security patch ahead of Google. Yesterday Nokia started rolling out the September patch to the Nokia 5 and now Sony is rolling out the September 1 security patch to the Xperia XZ and Xperia X Performance.

The version number of the update is 34.3.A.0.228 and the update is said to be live in various regions. However since most of the OTAs are rolled out in phases, it may take a while for the update to reach your Xperia XZ/X Performance.

The duo of Xperia XZ and X Performance are assured of an Oreo upgrade and are currently running Nougat 7.1.1. Although the September security patch is live on the Android Security Bulletin, Google is yet to commence the roll out of the update for the Nexus, Pixel and Android One devices.
