Facebook testing new in-app browser that will make you stay on Facebook

Social networking giant Facebook is testing a new in-app browser for its mobile app that will allow users to browse the web without leaving the app, The Next Web reports.

The in-app browser would allow users to input their own URL, if they want to check web page without leaving the Facebook app.  It also includes back and forward button and, and a menu button menu button likely to include additional features. You will also be able to bookmark pages. There is also a new bar on the bottom that shows, how popular a post is.

The only big feature that appears to be missing is tab support, apart from this the in-app browser is quite close to approximating a full-fledged app.

With a good enough browser, the Facebook app could essentially become a self-contained ecosystem of its own, added the report.

The new in-app browser is being tested by a small subset of iOS users. But most public test features end up receiving a wider-roll out a few months later.
