BlackBerry DTEK50, DTEK60 lands in India


BlackBerry's first Android smartphone PRIV was launched in India back in January. Today, the Canadian manufacturer has launched  the DTEK50 and DTEK60 Android phones in the country. BlackBerry has manufactured the DTEK50 and DTEK60 in collaboration with Alcatel and claims them to be the world's most secure Android smartphones.

The BlackBerry DTEK50 is priced at Rs. 21,990 and will go on sale November 13, while the DTEK60 costs Rs. 46,990 and will be available from December.

As far as the specs go, the BlackBerry DTEK50 is a mid-range smartphone with features like 5.2-inch Full HD display, octa-core Snapdragon 617 processor, 3GB RAM, 16GB storage, 13MP/8MP cameras, 4G LTE and 2150mAh battery.

The DTEK60 on the other hand is a high-end smartphone and BlackBerry's first to sport a fingerprint sensor which is placed at the back. It features 5.5-inch Quad HD AMOLED display, quad-core Snapdragon 820 processor, 4GB RAM, 21MP rear camera, 8MP front camera, 4G LTE, NFC, USB Type-C and 3000mAh battery.



For software, both DTEK50 and DTEK60 runs Android Marshmallow and with secure bootloader, Hardware Root of Trust, DTEK app, and quick updates for security patches. It also comes pre-loaded with BlackBerry’s suite of productivity apps, such as the Hub, Calendar, and keyboard.
