ANDROIDIFY EPISODE ONE: Completely Change your Ringtones

Completely changing your device’s ringtones is something every android user craves for.

It is every rooted android user's desire to completely own his or her android device. But some are tired of the boring ringtones that come pre-installed in the device. Sometimes we download the small size .mp3 or .ogg ringtones only to find them playing alongside our music playlist. (That's annoying since the audio files won't play the entire set)
Let's see how we can solve this issue and replace the stock ringtones with our own taste.
First of all, you need root for this to work because we will be doing a sort of "android security penetration".
If you are already rooted, you need to download your favourite ringtones in your preferred way. I would recommend a free app called Zedge or visit an appropriate ringtone site.
Once you have your ringtones set, we move to the actual process of replacement. In order to do this, you need to install Root Explorer apk. This will help you to easily navigate the root folders.
Open root explorer and grant it root access. Navigate to root/system/media/audio. (This is the path to locate all the audio files in your device. You will see four folders located inside the audio folder. For this tutorial, we're going to use the ringtones folder. Once you open the folder, you will see the entire ringtones in your device. Take note of the permission format: rw-r--r--. You can either choose to delete them or copy them somewhere else in case you decide to go back to them.
Now we will go back to the downloaded ringtones. We will need to rename them such that the extension name reads .ogg instead of .mp3.
Next do a batch selection to change permissions. You will notice that the downloaded ringtones have the following permission format: rwxrwxr-r. You'll need to change this format with the previous system permissions as I have stated above. To do this, do a batch selection again and click on the three-dot menu on the upper-right, or lower-right part of the root explorer layout. A menu will pop up. Select permissions. Then check the respective boxes.
Afterwards, cut and paste the ringtones to root/system/media/audio.
Confirm the operation and reboot your device.
Once the device restarts, check whether the operation was successful.

NB: In some devices, it will require you to do 2 to 3 reboots.

That's all. You've successfully changed your ringtones.
