Asus outs VivoBook E12 with 11.6-inch display, Apollo Lake processor

Asus has introduced a new compact and lightweight Windows 10 notebook that features 11.6-inch display and Apollo Lake processor — the VivoBook E12.

The Asus VivoBook E12 will be available in two models — E203NA and E203NAH. Both have the same specs sheet, with one key difference, the E203NA has eMMC storage with 32GB/64GB/128GB options, while the E203NAH has a HDD with 500GB/1TB storage options.

Both VivoBook E12 models will come with low-power Intel Celeron N3450 dual-core or Pentium N4200 quad-core processor options, 1366 x 768 display, 2GB/4GB RAM, VGA camera and 10 hours of battery life.

As for the ports, the notebooks get 2 x USB 3.1 Type-A ports, a USB 3.1 Type-C port, HDMI port, microSD card and headset jack, and for wireless connectivity, it has WiFi 802.11ac and Bluetooth 4.0. It also sports 180-degree hinge, meaning the notebook can be laid flat on the table.

There's another difference, but in the exterior. The HDD model (E203NAH) is slightly thicker and heavier at 0.82-inches and 2.7 pounds (1.2kg), compared with 0.67-inches and 2.2 (980g) pound for the model with flash storage (E203NA).

Asus is yet to reveal the pricing and availability details, but when VivoBook E12 releases, it is expected to be affordable and arrive in Star Grey, Petal Pink and Pearl White colors.
