Snapdragon 820 powered Samsung SM-G9298 flip phone spotted on TENAA


Samsung is working on a new Android based flip phone called SM-G9298. The device was spotted on TENAA revealing its specs and design. It is the successor of Snapdragon 808-powered G9198, which was launched back in 2015, and gets some major design changes and specs upgrade.

According to TENAA, Samsung SM-G9298 will have two displays, a 4.2-inch screen on the outside, a 4.2-inch screen when you flip it open, and both have Super AMOLED display with Full HD resolution. It also comes with a traditional alphanumeric keypad.

The listing further reveals that Samsung's new flip phone will be powered by last year's flagship Snapdragon 820 processor clocked at 2.15GHz. It will come with 4GB RAM and 64GB storage.

Other specs include 12MP/5MP cameras, 2300mAh battery, fingerprint scanner, heart rate sensor, hybrid dual-SIM slots, NFC, WiFi 802.11ac and 2300mAh battery. It will run Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow.

As of now, it is not known when Samsung plans to release the SM-G9298, but like its predecessor, the device is expected to be exclusive to South Korea and China.
