Xiaomi Mi 6C possible specs leaked: Surge S2 chip, dual-cameras, 6GB RAM

Xiaomi, back in April this year launched Mi 5C, the company's first smartphone to utilize home-grown Surge S1 octa-core chip. Now the Chinese device maker is reportedly working on its successor, that will also use in-house processor.

The device called Mi 6C will be a variant of Xiaomi's flagship Mi 6, and will be powered by in-house Surge S2 processor (could also end up being called Surge X1).

Taking of the processor first, the Surge S2 will be produced using the 16nmTSMC fabrication process. It will be an octa-core chip consisting of 4 x high-performance Cortex A73 cores clocked at 2.2GHz and 4 x  energy efficient Cortex-A53 cores clocked at 1.8GHz. It will be equipped with Mali G71MP8 GPU and support UFS 2.1 flash memory.

Coming to the Mi 6C, it will flaunt a premium look sporting double sided 2.5D curved glass design, and the screen to body ratio will be higher than that of Mi 6.

It will have dual-camera setup consisting of a 12MP Sony IMX386 CMOS sensor and a 5MP depth of field secondary sensor. The device will be offered in two RAM/Storage configurations: 4GB RAM/64GB storage priced at CNY 1999 ($297 | Rs. 19,000) and 6GB RAM/128GB storage priced CNY 2499 ($371 | Rs. 23,500).

According to the source, Xiaomi will launch the Mi 6C in Q4 of this year.
