HP teams up with Bang & Olufsen for high-end sound in PCs, Tablets

HP has partnered with Danish sound system maker Bang & Olufsen to bring premium sound to its PCs, tablets and other gadgets.

The Bang & Olufsen brand will appear on HP's Spectre, OMEN, ENVY and other select commercial PCs, while the B&O Play brand will appear on HP Pavillion PCs, tablets and PC accessories.

The companies said each device would be custom-tuned and it will also deliver clearer tunes by isolating audio circuitry and reducing the amount of metal used in the headphone jack to reduce ground noise for enhanced audio experience.

HP devices will also come with an audio control panel that users can use to customize enhance their audio experience based on preset configuration. User can also choose from optimized presets or manually adjust the sound to their likings.

The first HP PCs with Bang & Olufsen and B&O Play audio will be available this spring. Until now HP had partnered with Beats Audio, bringing Dr Dre's bass-heavy audio enhancements into HP PCs, laptops and tablets.
