Oppo R7 and R7 Plus gets official in China

Oppo R7 is one of the most leaked devices of the year. Several images and videos of the R7 appeared online. When the smartphone appeared first everyone thought it was bezel-less. But that was not the case. It actually had bezels on its sides, the curved glass edge refract light on the sides of the device to give the bezel-free effect. 

Said that, today, Oppo announced the highly anticipated Oppo R7 alongside a large-screen variant Oppo R7 Plus at an event in Beijing, China. The R7 and R7 plus sport metallic unibody constructions with chamfered sides and sculpted profiles. The front is covered by 2.5D glass, and the metallic back features similar curved edge.

The Oppo R7 features 5-inch (1080x1920 pixels) Full HD AMOLED display with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection. Under the hood there is an 1.5GHz octa-core Snapdragon 615 processor paired with Adreno 405 GPU and 3GB RAM. The Smartphone comes with 3GB RAM and microSD card slot for storage expansion options. It runs Android 4.4 KitKat with Color OS 2.1 on top and supports dual-SIM (Micro + nano)

Camera features include 13-megapixel rear camera with LED flash, Sony IMX214 sensor, f/2.2 aperture and 8-megapixel front facing camera with f/2.4 aperture. Connectivity features include 4G LTE / 3G, WiFi 802.11a/b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS and USB OTG. It is fueled by 2320mAh battery that supports VOOC Rapid Charge that is capable of charging battery from 0 - 75% in 30 minutes.

On the other hand, the Oppo R7 Plus sports 6-inch (1080x1920) pixels full HD AMOLED display with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection. It comes with 32GB internal storage, 4100mAh battery (supports VOOC Rapide charge) Android Lollipop and finger print sensor (on the back). The nano-SIM slot can be used as microSD card slot when required. Rest of the specs are similar to that of Oppo R7.

The Oppo R7 is priced 2499 Yuan ($400 | Rs. 25,600) and the R7 Plus is priced at 2999 Yuan ($480 | Rs. 30,000). Both will come in Gold and Silver colors and will is available to pre-order on  JD.com and Oppostyle.com from today. The R7 will be available from June 15, while the R7 Plus will release in mid-August.
