Samsung Galaxy Note 5 rumored release date could be August 12

Update : SamMobile reports that Galaxy Note 5 will be unveiled alongside Galaxy S6 edge+ on August 12. Both will launch in South Korea on August 21 and not August 12.

Samsung introduces the Galaxy Note series flagship every year at IFA consumer electronics show in Berlin. But this year that will not happen as the company will introduce the new Galaxy Note early in mid-August.

Digitimes citing sources at Taiwan-based telecom carriers reported that the Galaxy Note 5 will be unveiled on August 12 in New York and followed by August 14 release in major markets. Last week WSJ also reported that the Galaxy Note 5 will be introduced in mid-August. Analyst believe that this move is is an attempt to beat Apple's forthcoming iPhone devices which are expected to hit the market in mid-September.

The report further reveals some of the specs of Galaxy Note 5 which include 5.7-inch 2K curved touchscreen, 14nm Exynos 7422 processor and wireless quick charging support.

SamMobile recently claimed that, Samsung Insider confirmed that Galaxy Note 5 will pack 4GB LPDDR4 RAM. The device is also will come with USB Type C port. Unfortunately the Note 5 is said to come without a microSD card slot. It will sport 20-megapixel rear camera and 8-megapixel front facing camera. It comes with a choice of 32GB, 64GB and 128GB internal storage, there may also be a 256GB options, as the device has no microSD card slot.
