ZTE introduces the Axon Watch with gesture controls


ZTE announced the Axon Watch, the first smartwatch under the Axon brand. It runs Tencent OS instead of Android wear. It is being said the the Tencent OS-version of the watch as China-specific, and the company might introduce a international version running Android wear in the future. There is no word on the price of the ZTE Axon Watch at the moment.

The ZTE Axon Watch features a circular 1.4-inch (400 x 400 pixels) AMOLED Gorilla Glass screen with sapphire coating. Inside there is 1.2GHz Snapdragon 410 processor paired with 512MB RAM and include 4G eMMC on-board storage.

The Axon Watch is IP67 certified making it Water and dust resistant and supports GPS, Bluetooth 4.1 connectivity.  It comes with support for gesture controls, phone calls, and messaging. Other features included are a heart rate sensor, accelerometer, gyroscope, geomagnetic, and barometer.  It is backed by 300mAh battery.
