LG Ray with octa-core SoC, 8MP front camera announced


LG introduced a new mid-range smartphone called the Ray in Russia. The phone sports a brushed-aluminium finish at the rear and has its power key and volume rocked button placed at the back just below the primary camera.

The LG Ray features 5.5-inch HD IPS display and is equipped with an 1.4GHz octa-core MediaTek MT6592M processor with Mali 450 GPU paired with 1GB RAM. On-board storage is 16GB, further expandable via microSD card up to 32GB. It runs Android 5.1 Lollipop out of the box.

For imaging, it sports 13-megapixel rear camera with an LED flash and 8-megapixel front facing selfie camera. Connectivity wise, it supports Dual-SIM, 3G, WiFi, Bluetooth 4.0, USB 2.0 and GPS. Unfortunately, the phone misses out on 4G LTE connectivity. It is fueled by a 3000mAh battery and comes in Silver, Gold, Titan Black colors.

In Russia, the LG Ray is available for14990 rubles ($230 | Rs. 15,000). It will also be available in CIS regions and Latin America, followed by other markets including India, early next year.
