iPhone 7 said to be waterproof, plastic antenna stripes to be hidden


The launch of the iPhone 7 is nine months away, but rumors and reports have been surfacing online revealing details. The latest report published by Digitimes citing the local publication Commercial Times, suggests that the iPhone 7 will be waterproof and the antenna lines that are present at the back will be covered.

This is the second time being, it is being reported that the iPhone 7 will be waterproof, last month research firm TrendForce revealed that iPhone 7 will have a waterproof design. This will be the first time Apple will be using waterproof abilities to the iPhones. Apple will also be using new compound material for the iPhone 7 that will hide the antenna bands and do away with plastic stripes.

Catcher Technology will remain the largest supplier of metal chassis for Apple. Around 30 to 35 percent of the iPhone 7 chassis will be made by the Taiwan-based company. The report also states that iPhone shipments are expected to drop 30 percent in Q1 2016.
