Oppo A53 with Snapdragon 616, 7.4mm slim metal body announced


Oppo's latest offering the A53 has gone official in China. The phone sports a 7.4mm slim magnesium alloy unibody design. Oppo says that the smooth metal body was achieved by spraying fine zircon sand after 120 minutes of oxidation, which eventually condenses into a uniform thin layer, to bring a more delicate touch.

The Oppo A53 features 5.5-inch HD (1280 x 720 pixels) IPS 2.5D curved display and is powered by an 1.5Ghz octa-core Snapdragon 616 processor with Adreno 405 GPU and 2GB RAM. On-board storage is 16GB, further expandable via microSD card up to 128GB. It runs Android 5.1 Lollipop with Color OS 2.1 on top.

For photography, it is equipped with 13-megapixel rear camera with Samsung ISOCELL sensor and LED flash. For clicking selfies you get a 5-megapixel front facing camera. It has hybrid dual SIM support that lets you to use the second SIM slot as a microSD slot when required. Connectivity features include 4G LTE, 3G, WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0 and GPS. It is fueled by 3075mAh battery which supports fast charging. It also comes with Dirac audio and 1CC large five speaker sound chamber that prevents distortion even in full volume.

The Oppo A53 comes in Gold color and will go on sale in China soon. The brand is yet to reveal its price or global availability.
