Ulefone Power, a $210 smartphone with 6050mAh battery, fingerprint sensor

China's Gionee, Lenovo and Oukitel are leading the race when it comes to smartphones with large battery capacities, and joining the brigade will be Ulefone, another Chinese smartphone brand. Ulefone has introduced the Ulefone Power, which also comes with large battery capacity.

The Ulefone Power packs a massive 6050mAH battery, which promises 4 days of battery life on light use. The battery present inside is a Sony lithium polymer. The handset comes bundled with a 9V/2-3A quick charger that can charge the device fully in 90 to 120 minutes. A 5 minute charge will offer talk time of up to 2 hours and 30 minute quick charge will offer 1 day of normal use. Even though it packs a huge battery, the handset has a thickness of 9.5mm and weighs just 190g.

Coming to the specifications, the Ulefone Power sports a 5.5-inch Full HD (1920 x 1080 pixels) LTPS AUO 2.5D curved glass display with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection. Under the hood there is an octa-core MediaTek MT6753 64-bit processor with Mali T-720 GPU and 2GB RAM. On-board storage is 16GB, which can be topped up to 128GB via microSD card.

For photography, there is a Sony IMX214 13-megapixel rear camera with f/1.8 aperture, dual-Tone LED flash and can record 1080p videos. For clicking selfies you get a 5-megapixel front snapper. A fingerprint sensor is located just below the rear camera, that can unlock the phone in 0.1 to 0.3 seconds. It also gets a dedicated camera shutter key that doubles up as a voice recorder with a long press. Also on-board is IR sensor for remote function.

On the software front, it runs Android 5.1 Lollipop and houses Hybrid Dual SIM slot (SIM + SIM or SIM + microSD card). Ulefone says that the OS is upgradable to Android 6.0 Marshmallow, which will arrive in February. Connectivity options include 4G LTE, 3G HSPA+, WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS and USB OTG.

Priced at $210 (Rs. 14,000), the Ulefone Power comes in Dark Blue, Wooden and Silver colors, and will be available for purchase from its retail partners soon. Shipping will start before January 20.
