BQ's Aquaris M10 is an Ubuntu tablet that can also be your PC

Spanish OEM BQ has partnered with Canonical, the company behind the open source Ubuntu OS to launch the Aquaris M10 Ubuntu Edition tablet. It is the first commercial Ubuntu-powered tablet, and is also the first to offer an Ubuntu convergent experience, meaning you can use the tablet like a PC.

With the Ubuntu convergent experience, you can switch the tablet to an Ubuntu PC when connected with a Bluetooth mouse and keyboard, or when using the micro HDMI port to connect to an external monitor.

The BQ Aquaris M10 Ubuntu Edition features 10.1-inch Full HD (1920 x 1080 pixels) IPS display and is powered by 1.5GHz quad-core MediaTek MT8163A processor with 2GB RAM and 16GB internal storage, which can be increased up to 64GB via microSD card.

It sports 8-megapixel rear camera with dual LED flash and 5-megapixel front camera. The rear camera can record 1080p videos as well. On the connectivity front, the tablet supports WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0, micro HDMI and USB OTG. It is fueled by 7280mAh battery.

The tablet runs Ubuntu OS - the touch-friendly version of the operating system. Like the Ubuntu smartphones, the Aquaris M10 comes with  the "scopes" UI designed for touch screen interaction. There is also a feature called "side stage" that allows users to view two different applications on the same screen.

The BQ Aquaris M10 Ubuntu Edition tablet will be available starting Q2 2016. The tablet will be available for order through BQ's online store and is expected to be priced around 250 Euros ($280 | Rs. 19,000).
