Meizu MX5 receives Flyme OS 5.0 update in India


Meizu launched its flagship, the MX5 in India in August last year running Flyme OS 4.5 based on Android 5.0 Lollipop. Now the Chinese device maker has started rolling out the Flyme OS 5.1.3 stablet update based on Android 5.1 Lollipop for the MX5 in the country.

The new OS update bring more than 300 features and over 1,000 enhancements. It comes with a simple system app layout supported by smooth transition animation, Boot animation of Taj Mahal and a ringtone for India. These two are localised feature the Meizu designed specifically for its Indian customers.

Other features include floating notification, multi-screen mode, optimised icons, improved boot speed, optimized battery consumption (11% more battery left after 5 hours of heavy usage), enhanced permission for privacy protection and more [Click here to know more]

he Flyme OS 5.1.3.0IN update package weighs 817MB in size and is being rolled out over-the-air (OTA) in phases. If you can't wait for the update to arricve, you can download the zip file from here and manually upgrade to the new OS.
