Datamini launches Janunnati Pad tablet with Aadhaar-certified fingerprint scanner


Mumbai-based manufacturer Datamini, has launched TPOS7 Janunnati Pad, enterprise class tablet in India. The tablet is backed by MAIT, India’s ICT hardware industry association and chip maker Intel to support the government's Digital India and Make in India program.

The TPOS7 Janunnati Pad is the first tablet in India to come with STQC-certified fingerprint scanner for Aadhaar authentication. It can be used for various government initiative such as such as direct benefits transfer via Aadhaar-linked savings accounts, and can also be deployed in the Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana, Mahatma Gandi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme, and so on. 

“It can be used to help in the implementation of key e-Governance initiatives such as DBT (Direct Benefits Transfer) via Aadhaar-linked savings bank accounts of scheme beneficiaries, through its in-built fingerprint scanner, payments card reader and barcode scanner. It can also be deployed in the ‘Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana’ (PMJDY), to extend banking services to the rural and urban poor; make wage payments linked to Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme (MGNREGS); deliver subsidised foodgrains to BPL families via the e-PDS (Public Distribution System); monitor public health services under the National Health Mission (NHM) and so on,” said Datamini. 

The Datamini TPOS7 Janunnati Pad features a 7-inch 1024 x 600 display and is powered by Intel Atom x5 Z8300 processor paired with 2GB RAM and comes with 32GB internal storage, which can be increased via microSD card (up to 64GB). It gets a 5-megapixel rear camera, 2-megapixel front camera and is fueled by 5000mAh battery. Connectivity options include 3G (via SIM), 4G (optional), WiFi 802.11 b/g/n and Bluetooth 4.0, and also includes Bar Code reader, and Smart Card reader. It runs Windows 10 Home/Professional or Android OS. The tablet sports an ergonomic rugged design which should appeal to enterprise buyers.

The tablet is priced between Rs. 13,000 and Rs. 20,000 depending on configuration, and will be available in 3G and 4G LTE enabled variants. It will be available later this month.
