Alcatel Flash Plus 2 with Helio P10 SoC, fingerprint scanner announced


Alcatel has announced Flash Plus 2, the successor of Flash Plus that was introduced back in 2014. The Flash Plus 2 sports a full metal unibody design and comes with fingerprint scanner embedded into the home button.

The Alcatel Flash Plus 2 sports a 5.5-inch Full HD (1920 x 1080 pixels) OGS display and is powered by octa-core MediaTek Helio P10 processor paired with Mali T860 GPU. It comes in two variants – 2GB RAM w/ 16GB storage and 3GB RAM w/ 32GB storage. The storage can be expanded via microSD card (up to 128GB). 

For photography, it gets 13-megapixel rear camera with OV13853 sensor, f/2.0 aperture, PDAF, 5P lens and dual-tone LED flash. For clicking selfies and video calling you get 5-megapixel front camera with LED flash, 1.12μm pixel size, f/2.2 aperture and 84-degree wide-angle lens.

The dual-SIM phone runs Android 6.0 Marshmallow and supports 4G LTE, 3G, WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.1 and GPS connectivity. It is backed by 3000mAh battery with Flash charging support, that can charge the phone up to 50% in just 30 minutes. It also comes with AKM4375 Chipset, NXP9890 Audio Amplifier and IRD digital filter for an enhanced audio experience.

The Alcatel Flash Plus 2 2GB RAM + 16GB storage versions is priced at $160 (Rs. 10,500) and the 3GB RAM + 32GB storage model costs $190 (Rs. 12,600). It comes in Luna Silver and Venus Gold colors, and will be initially available in Philippines, Malaysia, Vietnam, Monaco and Thailand.
