WhatsApp reportedly working on native chat clients for Windows and Mac


WhatsApp last year introduced its web client, that mirrored the messages from your smartphone to desktop browsers. Now the Facebook-owned messaging service is working on native desktop client for Windows and Mac operating systems.

A twitter account WABetaInfo, which follows all the latest updates on WhatsApp has shared screenshots that shows Phrases like "Download for Mac OS X", "Download For Windows" and "OS versions supported by WhatsApp Native client" giving us hint about desktop apps.

However details are scarce at the moment, and WhatsApp is yet to confirm that it is working on desktop clients for Windows and Mac.

WhatsApp, the popular instanst messaging service has over 1 billion monthly active users and offers apps for various platforms including Android, iOS, Windows Phone, BlackBerry OS and Symbian. Earlier this month WhatsApp announced that it will be dropping supports for BlackBerry OS and Symbian, as well as for older versions of Windows Phone (7.1) and Android (2.1).
