Honor 5X gets Android Marshmallow update


Huawei's sub-brand Honor has strated rolling out Android Marshmallow based EMUI 4.0 update for its Honor 5X handset in India.

The update is being rolled out over-the-air via HiCare app in Asian regions including India and is also available for international models as well (KIW-L22C675B130, KIW-L22C675B150, KIW-L22C675B310). To get the update, you can open the HiCare app, and select India as the region in the OS upgrade section. Click here to know more.

The update brings the usual Marshmallow goodies such as battery-saving Doze mode, App Permissions, Google Now on Tap, performance improvements and system stability. Other non-Marshmallow features include smart contact groups, screen recording feature, 4-second message delay, compass app, contact sharing via barcode reader and updated Huawei Swype keyboard.

The Honor 5X is priced at Rs. 12,999 and offers, premium metal body, 5.5-inch 1080p display, Snapdragon 615 SoC, 2GB RAM, 16GB internal storage, 13MP rear camera, 5MP front camera, 4G LTE, fingerprint scanner, dual-SIM slot and 3000mAh battery.
