Honor 8 with 12MP dual rear cameras gets certified by TENAA

Huawei sub-brand Honor is all set to launch the successor of Honor 7, the Honor 8. Though the brand has not confirmed yet, the Honor 8 is expected to be announced on July 5 and hit the stores on July 12. Now ahead of the announcement the Honor 8 has been certified by China's TENAA, which confirms most of the handsets specifications and design.

The TENAA listing confirms most of the rumored specs, for instance the dual rear camera setup, a feature which made its debut with the flagship Huawei P9, as well as Honor V8. The fingerprint scanner is also positioned at the back.

As per TENNA, the Honor 8 will have a 5.2-inch 1080p display, octa-core processor clocked at 2.3GHz, which is Kirin 950 SoC, 4GB RAM, 32GB internal storage, microSD card slot, dual 12MP rear camera w/ dual LED flash, 8MP front shooter, Android 6.0 Marshmallow based EMUI, 4G LTE and 2900mAh battery. The phone's body is 7.45mm thin, weighs 153g and will come in Black or White color options. It will have a glass back with metal frames to give it a premium look.

The Honor 8 is rumored to come in four variants and possible pricing have also been leaked. The base model (32GB storage/no NFC) is expected to be priced at CNY1999 ($304 | Rs. 20,500), while the top end model with QHD display, 128GB storage will cost CNY 2799 ($425 | Rs. 29,000). The other two models 32GB storage/NFC and 64GB storage are rumored to be priced CNY 2199 ($334 | Rs. 22,500) and CNY 2499 ($380 | Rs. 25,500) respectively.
