Moto E3 5-inch HD display, Android Marshmallow now official

Motorola's most affordable smartphone the Moto E3 has been officially announced. Earlier rumors claimed that the Vibe C2 will be re-branded as Moto E3, but that turns out to be false. The phone has the iconic Moto logo and the design is similar to the Moto G4 series

The specs have been beefed up, when compared to previous Moto E models. Now, it has a 720p screen instead of 480p, and also includes an LED flash at the back. The selfie camera is also improved.

The Moto E3 comes with 5-inch HD (1280 x 720 pixels) IPS display and is powered by quad-core processor. The storage and RAM details are not known, but it has a microSD card slot for storage expansion. It gets 8-megapixel rear camera with LED flash and 5-megapixel front camera.

It runs Android Marshmallow and comes with dual-SIM slots depending on market. Connectivity duties are handled by 4G LTE, WiFI 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0 LE and GPS. It is fueled by 2800mAh battery and has splash-proof body for protection against minor spills.

The Moto E3 prices start at £99 ($ 132 | Rs. 9,000) and will go on sale in the UK from early September from Tesco, Amazon, Argos, O2 and other selected re-sellers. Given that previous generation Moto E devices have been a huge success in India, we can expect the Moto E3 to reach India soon.
