Samsung Galaxy S7 edge Olympic Games limited edition gets official

After unveiling the Galaxy S7 edge Injustice edition, Samsung has launched another special edition of the Galaxy S7 edge. Dubbed Galaxy S7 edge Olympic Games Limited Edition, the phone is meant to commemorate the Rio 2016 Olympic Games.

Samsung in collabaration with the International Olympic Committe (IOC), will deliver 12,500 Galaxy S7 edge Olympic Edition and Gear IconX to all Rio 2016 Olympians. A limited 2,016 units of Galaxy S7 edge Olympic edition will also be made available to consumers starting July 18, and will be available in select markets including Brazil, U.S, China, Germany and Korea.

The Rio 2016-inspired Galaxy S7 edge, incorporates an Olympic Games symbol emblazoned on the back of the the phone, and features a custom colorway pattern including the five official colors of Olympic Games. The user interface in the home and screens, as well as the message, dial and contact screens and notification bars will also have the colors of the Olympic rings. The device will come pre-loaded with Rio 2016 Olympic Games themed wallpapers.

The specs of the Galaxy S7 Edge Olympic Edition are similar as the original Galaxy S7 edge, and features 5.5-inch QHD Super AMOLED curved display, Snapdragon 820 SoC, 4GB RAM, 32GB internal storage, 12MP rear camera, 5MP front camera and 3600mAh battery.
