Samsung teases its next big thing, the Galaxy C9

Samsung has suspended the sales of Galaxy Note7, amidst reports that replacement units deemed safe are catching fire, but that is not stopping the South Korean tech giant from launching a new smartphone.

The company has started teasing launch of an upcoming smartphone which is expected to be the Galaxy C9. The Galaxy C9 will be part of Samsung's China exclusive 'Galaxy C' series and will join the Galaxy C5 and Galaxy C7.

The teaser shows a smartphone which sports metallic build and camera module position at the rear centre. The antenna lines can be found above the camera module. Overall the rear design is similar to the Galaxy C5 and Galaxy C7. Moreover the tagline in the teaser says "the next big thing is coming" indicating its the Galaxy C9, if various benchmark sightings are true.

Last month the Galaxy C9 appeared on Geekbench, AnTuTu and GFXBenchmark database revealing the phone to have a bigger 6-inch 1080p display, Snapdragon 652 processor, beefy 6GB RAM, 64GB inbuilt storage, 16MP front and rear camera, NFC and fingerprint scanner. As for the battery capacity, the Galaxy C9 got certified by FCC recently revealing a 4000mAh battery for the phone.

With Galaxy C9, Samsung will target China based smartphone makers like Xiaomi, OnePlus, Meizu, vivo among others which offer almost similar specs (especially 6GB RAM) at an aggressive pricing.

Currently the official announcement date of Galaxy C9 is not known, but reports suggest, that could happen later this month.
