Netbanking Comes to Google Play Store India

Netbanking Comes to Google Play Store India

Last year Google launched carrier billing for Google Play Store in India, starting with Idea Cellular. Yesterday they started rolling out support for payments through netbanking. This feature allows you to pay for your apps, games, and books on Google Play directly from your bank account, without touching your credit or debit card.

This is a good thing for those who don’t have a credit card or don't want to use it. To use netbanking billing, when you make a purchase, you just need to choose the bank you have added on the prompt in the store. This will redirect you to the secure page for the bank where you can add your login details and pay for the purchase.

Most of the popular banks, including State Bank, Indian Bank, Axis Bank, CitiBank are listed, but some banks like Standard Chartered are missed out. Hope we can expect Google to officially roll out this feature more widely in coming days.
