New Nokia phones coming in 2017, debut expected at MWC 2017

Time and again we've been hearing that Nokia will make a comeback to smartphone market. The Finnish company has now confirmed return of Nokia smartphones in 2017. The news comes from a slide presented in the company's investor focused presentation at the Capital Markets Day event, which states that 2017 will see 'Nokia's brand return to smartphones'.

However, Nokia will not  be manufacturing the phones, instead it will grant license to HMD Global to use Nokia's brand and patents to manufacture and market the phones  in partnership with Foxconn. This is because, HMD Global has signed a ten year exclusive agreement for using Nokia brand on their devices (tablet, smartphones.

Moreover, HMD Global has announced that it will be present at MWC 2017, Barcelona (February 27 - March 2), and we can expect Nokia's new smartphone to make an appearance at the event.
