Sony rolls out Android 7.0 Nougat to Xperia X and Xperia X Compact


Last month Sony Mobiles started rolling out Android 7.0 Nougat starting with the Xperia X Performance, followed by Xperia XA. Now the company is pushing the update to two of its devices.

Android 7.0 Nougat is now rolling out to the Xperia X (model number F5121), Xperia X Dual (F5122) and Xperia XA Compact. The update will take the build number of these smartphones to 34.2.A.0.266.

The new firmware is already avalable in select regions including Australia, Latin America, Middle East, France, Swizterland, Sweden, Russia, Italy, Turkey, Thailand and Vietnam. A wider roll out will happen over the coming days.

According to the Changelog, Android Nougat update for Xperia X and Xperia X Compact will add multi-window support for easier multi-tasking, longer battery life, new messaging app with video & audio sharing features, Google Now integration with home screen and December security patch.
