ZUK Edge is Now Official, Slays Snapdragon 821

So it's finally here, the Lenovo ZUK Edge is now official and it comes in with amazing design and great performance specs. It has been a game changing year for design language of smartphones, with Xiaomi coming up with the Mi Mix and now Lenovo bragging up the ZUK Edge. Well, to talk about the design, the device comes with very slim bezzels. It's worth mentioning here that slim bezzels are subject to accidental touches, which is still an issue with the Mi Mix, so if you can handle that then you're good to go.

The device looks very sleek and glossy which gives it a premium touch. It has great specs and some uniqueness too which will definately improve the user experience. Let's move on to the specs and get an idea of what this edgy device brings up for you.

Snapdragon 821 comes as a highlight for the phone and is a hallmark of it's performance, so don't doubt this phone's performance as it runs on one of the finest, fastest and fresh chipset. Along with that, Adreno 530 GPU is there and you'll be happy to learn that the ZUK Edge carries 64GB UFS 2.0 internal storage, which will cover all the operations at blazing fast speed and this is a part of the uniqueness we talked about. The device is rumoured to come in two variants of 4 and 6GB RAM capacity. This certainly goes well with the other specs. It is also slated to run Android Nougat out of the box

Now coming back to hardware section, ZUK Edge slays a beautiful 5.5" FHD display, having 2.5D curved glass. The contrast ratio becomes an important element here as the device has slim bezzels. Lenovo claims 1500:1 contrast ratio for the same, which seems satisfying. The button below the screen display is the Fingerprint Sensor, which Lenovo claims can unlock the phone under 0.09 seconds. We hope this stands true.

The image above shows the back of the device, so let's talk about it too. The ZUK Edge sports a rear camera of 13MP along with PDAF, f2.2 aperture and 1.34um pixel size. Just below the camera, the LED light is present. Another uniqueness in the phone is the heart rate sensor that is present below that LED. Headphone Jack is available(sigh) along with Dirac HD Sound. So you can undoubtedly expect the device to have crystal clear and great quality sound output.

4G VoLTE support is there along with Bluetooth v4.1. The thing which bothers here is the battery capacity which is the only problem that we see with this device. It comes in with 3100mAh of battery, what we think should have been atleast 3500mAh. However, it supports Quick Charging and the port goes with USB Type-C fashion.

The device is said to enter the market on Januaury 1 with Black and White colors. It should cost 330$ and 360$ for 4 and 6GB RAM variant respectively.
