Lenovo intros its Surface Pro challenger, the Miix 720


Lenovo has introduced a new Windows 10 2-in-1 tablet dubbed Miix 720, the company's answer to Microsoft upcoming Surface Pro. The 2-in-1 tablet comes with detachable keyboard, touch screen, Kaby Lake processor and support for Lenovo Active Pen 2.

The Lenovo Miix 720 sports a 150-degree rotatable built-in kickstand and comes with a keyboard cover featuring backlit keys. The tablet weighs 780g and is 8.90mm thick, and when used with the keyboard it weighs 1.1kg and is 14.6mm thick.

The 2-in-1 tablet features 12-inch touchscreen display with a resolution of 1920 x 2880 pixels and is powered by Intel Core i7 processor (Core i3-7100U, Core i5-7200U or Core i7 7500U options) with Intel HD 620 graphics. It supports up to 16GB RAM and up to 1TB PCIe SSD storage.

There's a 5MP camera on the back and 1MP camera on the front with IR for Windows Hello recognition. It includes  a USB Type 3.1 Type-C port, a USB 3.0 port, a USB 2.0 port, a headset jack, a microSD card slot and packs a 41Wh battery rated to deliver up to eight hours of run time.

The optional Active Pen 2 supports 4096 levels of pressure sensitivity and has a shortcut button for performing actions without touching the screen. It also has support for Windows Ink.

The Lenoo Miix 720 (with Keyboard) starts at $999 and will be available from April 2017 in Champagne Gold and Iron Gray colors. The Lenovo Active Pen 2 starts at $59.99 and will be available from February 2017.
