Lenovo unveils Alexa powered Smart Assistant speaker

Lenovo is the latest company to join the voice-activated smart speaker market after Google. At the ongoing CES 2016, Lenovo has introduced Smart Assistant, its first digital personal assistant speaker. It is built in collaboration with Amazon and is powered by Amazon's Alexa cloud-based voice services.

Just like Amazon Echo or Google Home, Lenovo's Smart Assistant can recognize users voice command and uses Alexa to perform actions like search web for information, play music, create listes, calendar reminders and more.

It is built with eight 360-degree far-field microphones with noise suppression and acoustic echo cancellation, and is designed to pick up user's voice commande from upto 5 meters or 16 feet away. In addition, there's also an option of Harman Kardon edition for premium audio quality.

Lenovo's Smart Assistant specs include Intel Celern N3060 processor, 2GB RAM, 8GB in-built storage, 1 x 5W Tweeter + 1 x 10W Woofer, WiFi 802.11n and Bluetooth 4.0. It sports a cylndrical design and weighs at 760g and comes in Light Gray, Green and Orange colors.

The price starts at $129.99, while the Smart Assistant Harman Kardon Edition price starts at $179.99 (Rs. 12,300). It will be available from May 2017.
