MediaTek introduces Dual 4G VoLTE Solution

MediaTek in collaboration with China Mobile has introduced 'Dual 4G VoLTE solution'. Currently 4G smartphones allow only the primary SIM card to support VoLTE, while the secondary SIM card can only use 2G/3G.

But the Dual 4G VoLTE solution will allow dual-SIM smartphones to support 4G VoLTE with both primary and secondary SIM card, instead of just primary. MediaTek's Helio X30 will be the first chipset to utilize the Dual 4G VoLTE solution, and it is highly integrated and optimized within the chip.

For those unaware, VoLTE is a 4G LTE net-work based HD voice technology for high-speed wireless voice and video calling over 4G network. Compared to 2G/3G networks, VoLTE calls and video calling offer higher audio and visual quality.

MediaTek says, Dual 4G VoLTE solution will maximize the usability of dual VoLTE with stable calling quality and high data transfers to deliver a better Internet and calling experiences.
