Samsung will unpack the Galaxy Note8 on August 23
The rumors were indeed true. Samsung has confirmed that its Galaxy Unpacked event for the Galaxy Note8 will be held on August 23. The South Korean tech giant has also sent out invites for the same.
The invite shows a silhouetted phone with slim top and bottom bezels and no edges, suggesting that Galaxy Note8 will sport Infinity display, just like Galaxy S8 & S8+ for a bezeless design. It also shows the signature S-Pen as well.
Samsung says the Galaxy Note8 will be the "ultimate multitasking device for those who want to do bigger things with their phone." and specifically designed for those "who move through barriers to do more of what matters to them."
According to earlier reports, the Galaxy Note8 will be Samsung's expensive smartphone to date carrying a price tag of €999 in Europe and around $900 in the US (Rs. 72,000/Rs. 58,000 respectively). It is expected to go on sale early September.
The Galaxy Note8 is said to have 6.3-inch QHD edge-to-edge AMOLED Infinity Display with 18:9 aspect ration, Qualcomm Snapdragon 835/Exynos 8895 chipsets, depending on the market, 6GB RAM, fingerprint scanner, 3300mAh battery and dual-camera setup. The dual-camera system at the back will be stacked horizontally and consist of two 12MP sensor with dedicated optical image stabilization for lens. Other features expected are support for DeX Dock, heart rate sensor, iris scanner, Bixby voice assistant, improved S-Pen, and Black/Blue/Gold color options.
The Galaxy Note8 event on August 23 will take place at Park Avenue Armory in New York City and is scheduled to begin at 11am EST (8:30pm IST). The event will also be live-streamed at Samsung's website.
