Samsung's new Gear VR headset is designed for the Galaxy Note8

Samsung officially unveiled its latest flagship, the Galaxy Note8 with Infinity display, dual-cameras and S-Pen yesterday. In addition the South Korean tech giant introduced a new Gear VR headset specially designed to fit the Galaxy Note8 and its 6.3-inch display.

Even though, the company introduced a new VR headset with the Galaxy S8, it is not able to fit the Galaxy Note8 because the new Note is larger and has bigger screen compared to Galaxy S8+. The new Gear VR headset has a bigger slot to fit the the huge Galaxy Note8.

Apart from a design upgrade to fit Galaxy Note8, it appears that the new VR doesn't get any other changes. The new headset is also backward compatible with previous flagships such as Galaxy S8, Galaxy S8+, Galaxy S7, Galaxy S7 edge, Galaxy S6, Galaxy S6 edge, Galaxy S6 edge+ and Galaxy Note5. It will also come bundled with a controller to help navigate with movements.

The new Gear VR headset for Galaxy Note8 carries a price tag of $129.99 (Rs. 8,300), and is now available in the U.S through Samsung's online store.
