Asus rolls out new ZenUI 4.0 to ZenFone 3 Zoom

Last month, Asus introduced the ZenFone 4 line up with upgraded ZenUI 4.0 and Nougat with less bloatware and cleaner look. It also confirmed that last years ZenFone 3 will also get the new upgraded user interface.

And now Asus has started rolling out ZenUI 4.0 to the ZenFone 3 line starting with the ZenFone 3 Zoom. Users can update their devices to ZenUI 4.0 via FOTA (Firmware over-the-air) update, or can check for it manually by going to 【Setting】>【About】>【System Update. If you've not received the update yet, don't worry as Asus says it might take about one week for the system to complete the autopush.

By getting rid of bloatwares (trimming down the 35 pre-installed apps on ZenUI 3.5 to just 13 apps), the upgraded ZenUI 4.0 now has a smart UI design with a fresh new look that is cleaner and lighter. It also features ─
  • AI-powered Gallery: Organize your photos using facial recognition, and automatically sort all your group photos
  • Wallpaper Slideshow: Every time you unlock your screen, a fresh new wallpaper greets you
  • Animated/Living Themes
  • Safeguard: Reports location and triggers SOS
  • Game Genie: Boost gaming speeds, search for cheats and walkthroughs, and live stream/record gameplay
  • Twin Apps: Have two accounts of the same social media or messaging platform
  • Page Maker: Saves all your articles and highlighted excerpts on your device and backs them up on Google Drive, and you can retrieve and read them anytime from your Chrome browser
Asus has already confirmed that ZenFone 4 and ZenFone 3 series will get Google's latest Android 8.0 Oreo by the first half of 2018.
